Ben Heller, operations manager at the award-winning Murphysboro, Illinois, restaurant, 17th Street Barbecue, offers his take on a Bourbon Maple Fizz. This bright, sunny cocktail will be featured at the restaurant this summer, but he gives us a preview of his delightfully refreshing, patio-ready recipe.
Bourbon Maple Fizz
- 2 oz bourbon
- 2 oz freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- ½ oz maple syrup
- beer of choice, such as wheat ale, blonde ale or pilsner
- orange twist or wheel, for garnish
In pint glass, stir together bourbon, orange juice, lime juice and maple syrup. Add enough ice to fill glass, then top with beer; gently stir to combine. Garnish with orange twist.
